to “bear tesimony” is an action. “bare testimony” would mean that the testimony itself were naked, stripped, or otherwise deprived of something. “bear” is a verb. “bare” is an adjective. I WIN. (however, i assume that you realized the error of your comment and consequently deleted the post, and that that is why i cannot find the link.)
